How long have you been in the construction business?
For more than a decade, we have been involved in the construction industry.
Do you require a deposit to start a work?
Yes, we require a 20% deposit for all projects. This ensures that we have the necessary resources to procure materials and commence work.
How many homes have you built?
Custom Bau have been involved with the construction, maintenance, preservation and repair, of hundreds of buildings and homes.
What sets you apart as a company?
We are a boutique building company. We don’t want to be the biggest construction company in Europe or Switzerland; we want to be the best. We only take on a certain number of projects at any given time, as we believe that our product is worth the wait. We strive to handle every job we undertake with fanatical attention to consistency and detail. Our no. 1 core value is service to the customer above all else.
What guarantees do you have on the materials you use?
When working with Custom Bau you are covered by the fact that all materials are SABS approved and the installers offer full and comprehensive guarantees.
What are the most important benefits of the homes you build?
Our project coordinators work hand in hand with the best architects to ensure we deliver your dream home with top workmanship, on time and in budget.
What type of warranty do you offer?
We work with the standard JBCC Building agreement. This contract is the most widely used contract in EU, and the only contract accepted by all the financial institutions in South Africa when applying for finance. The JBCC building agreement makes allowances for this
What are the major energy-saving features of homes you build?
We offer different solutions in this regard including: Solar panels, heat pumps, energy saving lights etc. We also work with architects that design homes specifically with specific energy saving features in mind.
Do you build only from home plans you supply? Or can I provide my own set of plans?
In order for us to provide you with an accurate estimate or quotation for a renovation or new build, we would require a set of plans drawn up by an architect. Unfortunately we do not offer “Guestimates”. We are more than willing to direct you to an architect with great references to help you design your dream home.
